Grants policy
Millfield House Foundation helps to tackle poverty, disadvantage and exclusion and to promote social change in the North East of England, particularly Tyne & Wear. It funds projects that inform discussion and influence public policy and attitudes, with the aim of diminishing social deprivation and empowering communities.
Projects supported might for example seek to -
- Give a voice to excluded groups
- Bring first hand experience of poverty to opinion formers and policy makers
- Promote social policy discussion in the region
- Campaign on local social issues
If you intend applying for a grant –
- Be sure that what you propose would be legally charitable. To check the Charity Commission guidance 'Speaking Out - Guidance on Political Activity and Campaigning by Charities', see Guide for applicants for contact details.
- Check that your project fits with what MHF will consider. If you are not certain whether your project qualifies for a grant from MHF, don't send an application but seek clarification from the Administrator.
- Refer to Guide for applicants before making an application.
