Grants and Applications 2012/2013
The Trustees are undertaking an exercise with a view to considering themes for a 'call for applications' approach for a least a proportion of the funds available annually for grants.
Expenditure on grants in 2009/2010 was £238,296, in 2010/2011 £263,062 and in 2011/2012 is likely to be around £278,000. A substantial amount is already provisionally committed for 2012/2013.
Decisions about the future of the grants programme will be made at the Trustees' meeting in May 2012. As the Trustees want to keep their options open they have decided not to consider new applications until the autumn of 2012. Further information will be available following the May meeting.
Grants policy
The principles of the grants policy remain unchanged. Millfield House Foundation will continue to support initiatives which tackle poverty, disadvantage and exclusion, and promote social and economic change, in the North East of England, particularly Tyne and Wear. We do this by funding groups which carry out policy-related research or campaigns to inform debate and to promote change on local social issues and public policy.
